Obituary of Desiree Ann Hernandez

Please share a memory of Desiree to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Desiree Ann Hernandez, 66, who passed on Friday, November 10th at home. Desiree was born in Manhattan, NY to Richard and Carole Rosell (at the time). Desiree later relocated to Toms River, NJ with her mother (Carole), Step-father (Fritz Timmerman) and sister (Kim Carrie Rosell). Desiree met the love of her life, Anthony (Tony) Hernandez. They married June 26th 1982, and together they were blessed with their daughter, Fallon Marie. Desiree and Tony adored this child with all their heart. After losing Tony, Desiree and Fallon had an extreme bond that was unbreakable. They knew exactly how to take care of each other’s hearts. To know Desiree was to love her. To say she had a special spark would be an absolute understatement and not at all fair to her legacy. When this woman entered a room, everyone knew. It was not just from her beauty, but from her undeniable affection for everyone it in. She made you feel special, loved, and cared for whether you were someone that she has known her whole life or a stranger that would later become her friend. Desiree had many difficult seasons in her life. Thankfully, she was a deeply spiritual person who could not help but to share God’s love with others. She became an inspiration to all that were blessed to know her. Desiree was driven by her faith; she always picked herself up, and learned from the lessons set before her. These times later became a tool on her tool belt to teach others who also fell on those challenging moments in life. Her faith was our biggest gift from her because she shared it so deeply. Desiree was an activist to so many causes and she studied them like it was her job. She fought especially hard for her animals and Domestic Violence victims. Des was sharp, intelligent, and extremely outspoken. If you needed one friend in this world, one person to stand and fight with you, or for you, she was your person. Our family will be lost not having this brave warrior in our lives, who exemplified courage, as she was our fiercest protector. With that said, we are at peace knowing she is no longer in pain, and rejoice knowing she is reunited with her loved ones and Jesus. We need to acknowledge her love for her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She showed them all things FUN! She reminded them every chance she had how loved they were, and how special, and unique each one of them are. Her passionate, and fun spirit, and perseverance will always live within them. We will never let them forget. Desiree is survived by her daughter, Fallon (Michael) Giordano, their children Neveah, Anthony and Jada, sister, Erika (Chris) Marzulli, their children Christopher and Eric, brother, Matthew Timmerman and his children Charlotte and Zaleah. She was predeceased and in the loving arms of the love of her life, her husband, Anthony (Tony) Hernandez, mother, Carole Timmerman, her Step-father, Fritz Timmerman, father, Richard Rosell, sister, Kim Carrie Rosell, uncle, Thomas Joensen, and many other loving relatives. A Memorial Service to be held at Kedz Funeral Home, located at 1123 Hooper Avenue Toms River, NJ 08753 on Friday November 17th, 2023 from 4pm to 6pm.
