Emma Cisneros-Figueroa, 75, of Toms River, NJ passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 25, 2024. Emma was born and raised in Santa Ana, El Salvador to her late parents, Juan and Rutilia Figueroa. She was one of ten siblings, with six brothers and three sisters. She met her beloved husband Jose Luis Cisneros and went on to marry in October 1967. They started their own family in Santa Ana, El Salvador raising their two children. Emma lived for her husband, kids and most importantly, later, her seven grandkids.
In February of 1985 Emma moved to the United States where she resided in West Orange, NJ. Emma became an active member of The Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Newark, NJ, where her commitment to the choir reflected not only her faith in Jesus Christ but also her vibrant spirit and love for music. Emma was an exceptional cook and always enjoyed a good BBQ with her friends and family. Emma, a witty individual with a fondness for jokes, consistently brightened the room with her infectious humor and laughter, always on a mission to bring joy to those around her. She retired to Toms River in 2012 with her husband.
After retiring Emma enjoyed gardening, she had quite the green thumb, car rides with her husband, and shopping for a good bargain.
Emma is survived by her husband, Jose Cisneros, her son, Luis Cisneros and his wife Myrland; daughter, Liz Sehulster and her husband Robert; grandchildren, Michael Sehulster and his wife Tiffany, Brendan Sehulster, Abigail Cisneros, Alyssa Cisneros, Natalie Cisneros, Andrew Cisneros, and Nathan Sehulster.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, from 4 – 8 pm at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Avenue, Toms River. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday from 10-11 am at the funeral home. Entombment to follow.
