Marilyn Hart Risden Obituary

Marilyn Hart Risden, 80 of Wall Township passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024. Marilyn was born in San Antonio, Texas where her father was stationed in the Army Air Force. After a short period they moved to Avon, NJ. In 1949, she moved to Wall Township and in 1961 she was in the first class to graduate from the new Wall Township High School. Marilyn lived in Matawan, Middletown and Highlands and had worked as a travel agent for several years, sold Nikken Products, and was an Officer with the Monmouth County Sheriffs Department. She attended several churches over the years including 5th Avenue Chapel in Belmar, Bethel Bible Chapel, Grace Bible Fellowship in Middletown and Jesus Fellowship Calvary Chapel in Leonardo. Marilyn was an active volunteer at the Solutions Pregnancy Center in Shrewsbury.


Marilyn is survived by her husband Edward Ronald Risden; her children Robin Loffer, Christopher Eric Risden and his wife Megumi, Christopher Ian Peer Risden and honorary foster daughter, Linda Feeney; her sister Peg Hart; and three granddaughters, Rachel, Sarah and Hannah.


Visitation will be held at the 5th Avenue Chapel, 5th Ave, and ‘B’ street, Belmar, Thurdsay, February 22, 2024 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at the Monmouth Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Marilyn’s memory to the Solutions Pregnancy Center, at Solutions HPC, 837 Broad Street, Shrewsbury, NJ 07702 or by visiting solutions4life.org.
