Joyce Abline (Steinbach) age 79 of Whiting, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024.

Born in Passaic, she grew up in Bradley Beach and graduated from Neptune High School. Joyce moved to Toms River in 1969 where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the East Dover Fire Dept. Joyce was a Deli Manager for Perlmutter ShopRite of Toms River for 15 years and later worked as a cast member at the Disney Store in the Ocean County Mall.

She was predeceased by her husband Michael Abline, her son, Kenneth Newby, grandson, Ronald Newby, Jr., niece, Christine Burk, and daughter-in-law, Tracy Newby.

Joyce is survived by her son, Ronald Newby, Sr.; 4 grandchildren, Pamela Newby (Trevor), Anthony Newby (Krystal), Justin Newby and Austin Newby; many great grandchildren, Gianna, Ronnie, Anthony, Hannah, Julius, Avery, Kiah, Jaiden, Trevor, and Kylie; daughter-in-law, Lorri Newby: sisters, Judith Burk and husband Michael and Patricia Frisch. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Michael, Lilly, and Mikey Burk, Wendy, and Richard Frisch.

Joyce had a deep love for all things Disney. From the classic movies to the iconic theme parks, Disney held a special place in her heart. Joyce’s happiest memories were made at the Disney World Theme Parks, where she felt like a child again. Joyce shared countless trips with her family and friends. To Joyce Disney was more than just a brand, it was a source of joy and inspiration that enriched her life in countless ways.

Visitation will be held on Saturday March 9, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm, at which time a funeral service will be offered. Services will be held at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Avenue, Toms River. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joyce’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org
