Obituary of Francisco G. Gonzalez

Please share a memory of Francisco to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Francisco G (Paco) Gonzalez, 82, of Toms River, NJ, departed this earth to join his parents in heaven on June 12, 2024. He passed away at home surrounded by his loving family. Paco was born in Camaguey, Cuba to Francisco and Alicia Gonzalez on November 25, 1941. He became a pilot in Cuba but was forced to give that up to instead endure harsh conditions and grueling work for two years in a labor camp to earn approval for him and his family to leave then communist Cuba in 1970. He took his wife and his young son to Spain with only the clothes on their backs and no promise of security in this new country. He worked hard and did what he needed to do to provide for his young family in Madrid and even added a daughter in the process. In 1973 he once again packed up his growing family and moved them to the United States. He again started over, and did what was needed to provide. He also added a second daughter in the process. He found success in home construction and retired from K. Hovnanian Companies in 2007 as a Land Development Manager. In his retirement, he was an avid traveler with his wife, he enjoyed playing golf, playing XBox with his grandsons and spending time with all of his grandchildren. He was blessed with enough time to also meet his first great grandchild just days before his passing. Paco is survived by his adoring wife Cory Gonzalez of Toms River, His son Frank and his wife Laura Gonzalez, his daughter Lisette Gonzalez and his daughter Corinne Collina. His legacy extends to his six cherished grandchildren; Steffen, Brianna, Brandon, Alexa, Michael and Cristina as well as his first great grandson Leo. He is also survived by his brother Camilo Gonzalez. A braver and more resilient man does not exist. May he now find peace and love in God's embrace. Visitation will be held at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Avenue, Toms River on Monday, June 17th at 8:30am. A funeral mass will be held at Saint Joseph's Roman Catholic Church on Monday, June 17th 2024 at 11:30am. Entombment will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.
