Obituary of Robert Nicholas DeStefano

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Robert Nicholas DeStefano, a loving husband, father, PopPop, and friend, passed away on August 23, 2024, after a courageous battle with many diseases, at the age of 81. Bob was born in Queens, NY, and later moved to Paterson, NJ, where he met the love of his life, Patricia (Spano). Together, they started their family and moved to their forever home in Toms River, NJ. Bob was an amazing husband and father and supported his family first by operating heavy equipment and then driving a tractor trailer for many different companies. Throughout all of this, he still found time to coach baseball, soccer and was a scout leader. He passed on his love of driving to his grandsons and gave them many happy memories riding on his riding lawn mower. As his family and friends could tell you, Bob could fix anything in his shed while his radio was playing in the background. His Christmas light display brought everyone in the neighborhood so much joy! He will be greatly missed, but remembered by those who loved him. Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia (Spano), son, Robert, and wife Kelly, his daughter, Meghan Ciniglio, and husband Dominick, and two grandsons Dom Rocco and Matthew. Visitation hours will take place on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 from 4 - 7 pm at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, NJ. A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph's Church, 685 Hooper Avenue, Toms River. Interment to follow. The DeStefano family asks kindly that if you are not feeling well too please stay home and share your condolences and memories on the tribute wall for Bob. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, www.stjude.org.
