Obituary of Richard George Burgdorfer went home to be with the Lord

Richard George Burgdorfer went home to be with the Lord, Sunday morning, October 10, 2010 at his home. He was predeceased by his parents John and Emma Burgdorfer, his beloved wife Blanche Smith Burgdorfer and a grandson Ryan Michael Weinberger. He has resided in Toms River since 1958 and was a butcher for over 40 years at the Grand Union. He was the few surviving charter members of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and enjoyed singing in the choir and ushering. He was known to most people as Pop and was loved by all whose lives he touched. Our loss is heaven’s gain. He is survived by four children, Gail Cammann and her husband Charles, Deborah Vosper and her husband George, Sandra Weinberger Bianchini and John Richard Burgdorfer and his wife Gina; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; a brother Donald Burgdorfer; a sister Kay Christensen and his fiancée Lillian Eitzen. A memorial service will be held 3:00 pm Sunday, October 17 at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church , 1500 Hooper Ave. , Toms River.
