Dear Carol and Family, I am so sorry for your great loss. To think that we were just having dinner together last Thursday at this time at Harvey Cedars. It was such a pleasure to see you and Joe at the conference, and to pray together with you and Joe each morning for your family members and their activities. And now I'm asking the Lord Jesus to comfort all of you in your sorrow and bereavement. We know that Joe is with the Lord Jesus and in complete joy in His presence. But for you, it takes a while to come to grips with such a sudden loss. I think that only the Lord Jesus can give you the peace, comfort, and strength to keep going through this time of mourning and adjustment. May you know the presence of the Lord Jesus with you here and now, and may He hold you together in His great care and love for you. And may His final victory give you hope in the Lord Jesus's mighty power over the last enemy, death: "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."
