Walter J. Lukas, Sr., 77, of Toms River, died Tuesday, Sept. 7 2004. Mr. Lukas worked as a painter at Ocean County College, Toms River, for 32 years, retiring in 1994. He currently worked part time as a painter at the Liberty Royal Nursing Home, Tinton Falls. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and a life member of the F.O.P. Lodge 10, Toms River. Born on Staten Island, he lived in Newark before moving to Toms River 41 years ago. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Ann Lukas: a son and daughter-in-law Walter Jr. and Cher; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Edward Black, Linda and David Sage, and Antoinette and Robert; three brothers, Harry, Al and Matthew; a sister, Helen; and nine grandchildren, Dinnea, Tina, Sherri, Destiny, Teresa, Jade, Keri, Emma and Frankie. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River. Services will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral, followed by 11:30 a.m.services at the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to the F.O.P. Lodge 10, North Bay Ave., Toms River, NJ would be appreciated.
