With profound sadness we announce the passing of Frances "Fran" Rush, our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend to all whose lives she touched.

Mom passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side. She was 88 years old.

Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, Fran was the oldest sibling. Losing her mother at the young age of 18, she went to work to help care for her father, brother, and sister, before meeting the love of her life, John Rush. They married in 1957 and in 1974 moved their family to Toms River, NJ, where they enjoyed a comfortable life with family, dear friends, and great neighbors.

She was the beloved mother of Marie (Rick Hausner), Michelle Marine, and John Rush Jr., proud grandmother of Katie Marine and Suzanne (Rick Charriez), and an extremely proud great grandmother of Adam, her “boy”. Fran adored and lived for her family.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, John, in 1995.

Fran lived a full life as a wonderful wife, mother, homemaker and matriarch, to our family. She will be dearly missed.

Besides adoring her family, Fran loved to cook for them and anyone else who might stop in. Sundays were always special, when she would make her delicious sauce for her family to enjoy. We will all miss the beautiful aromas of her cooking and the holidays when she would make enough food to feed the town. Many special memories were made around Fran’s dining room table.

Most of all she loved her family and instilled strong values in her children. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 4 - 6 pm at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Avenue, Toms River. Interment will take place on Friday, October 11, 2024, at 10:00 am at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 62 Cedar Grove Road, Toms River, NJ.
