David Sherwood Wise, age 71, of Toms River, NJ, passed away peacefully at his residence on January 7, 2025. He was born on June 6, 1953, in Millsboro, DE, to Grace Helen Wise.

David was a retired custodian with the Toms River School System, where he became a beloved figure among both students and staff. Known affectionately as "Mr. Dave" in the hallways of West Dover Elementary & Citta Elementary, he was always ready to lend a hand and bring smiles to everyone’s face. His kindness and dedication left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

A self-made "Mr. Fix-It," David was passionate about golf, fishing, tennis, and sports in general. In his later years, he was known for staying active with extensive walks and bike rides to maintain his health and vitality.

David is survived by his children Erica James(Jide), Leslie Perna(Nicholas), David Wise(Jordan) and Marquice BrownReed; his brothers Sylvester Wise and Simon Wise; his sisters Charlene Walton, Laverne Wise, and Tassa Payton; and his grandchildren Ciara James, Nicholas Perna, Mallory Lowe, Avery Lowe, and Noah Perna.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025 at 10:00am at Kedz Funeral Home 1123 Hooper Ave. Toms River, N.J. 08753.

Dave will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
