I met Al at Stump Creek Slipways in Bayville many years ago. He asked about my last name and said he knew my dad when he worked at Merck in Rahway NJ. He had nice things to say about my dad and that was much appreciated. Al was a nice guy with a quick smile, RIP my friend. Paul J. Lucier

What a beautiful obituary! Uncle Al was a person to admire and inspire. I'm so grateful for all these years of living close enough to spend time with him at many family events. I remember the sarcasm and laughter and love. I'll never forget when I bragged to Uncle Al that I had 1 patent to my name now, and he put me in my place, lovingly - "hey kid, that's nothing. Talk to me when you have 32." Forever in my heart and memories. Love, Al's great niece Laura and great great niece and nephew, Emme and Kyle

My deepest condolences to all of the Ballman family. I only met Mr Ballman twice both very brief. But I knew the character of the man immediately, And I was very impressed, and I was overjoyed that he would be a part of my sister Donnas new family.
