Obituary of Anthony B. Caproni

Anthony B. Caproni, 88, of Toms River, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 1, 2014 surrounded by his family. He worked as a chemical lab technician for Ciba Geigy in Toms River for over 25 years. Born and raised in Newark, he was a graduate of Eastside High School where he was a member of the football team. He was a proud decorated Army veteran and served during World War II as a rifleman with Charlie Co., 14th Infantry, 71st Division and was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge. He was a member of Toms River VFW Post 6063. Anthony, an avid gardener, moved to Toms River in 1962 and was a communicant of St. Joseph Catholic Church for 50 years. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Catherine I. Caproni in 2004. Anthony was a devoted Dad, loving Pop and a good friend to many. Surviving are his daughters, Bernadette Larkin and her husband Albert of Island Heights, Victoria Saluccio and her husband Sal of Toms River; his sister Corinne Drahl of Berkeley Heights; and his four grandchildren, Alessandra, Elizabeth, Adam and Hank. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm at the Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River . Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 am Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Hooper Ave., Toms River. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Caregiver Volunteers of Central New Jersey, 253 Chestnut Street, Toms River, NJ 08753.
