Obituary of Philip J. Suppa

Philip J. Suppa, 97, of Toms River, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2014. Philip worked at the Naval Air Engineering Station Lakehurst as a supervisor of aircraft maintenance, retiring in 1972. He proudly served in the Army Air Forces during World War II. He was a life member of the Toms River Elks Lodge 1875. Born and raised in Staten Island, NY, he moved to Toms River 46 years ago. Philip was predeceased by his parents, Angelo and Marion Suppa, step son Warren Walker and sister Anna O'Neill. Surviving are his beloved wife Ruth Walker Suppa; two daughters, Pamela VanOstrand, Robin Laub and step daughter Karen Schenck; two step sons, Lyle and Craig Walker; sister, Florence Mauritzen; four grandchildren, Arthur, Andrew, Kaytlyn and Timothy; great grandson Aiden. Visitation will be held at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 with a funeral service offered at 8:30 pm.
