Obituary of Doris M. Quinn

Doris M. Quinn, 91, of Toms River passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 24, 2014. Doris was a homemaker who cherished the task of caring for her family. She was particularly proud of reaching 60 years of marriage with her beloved husband Edward J. Quinn, Jr. who predeceased her in 2004. Born and raised in Newark, she attended Arts High School. She was a member and past president of the Ladies of Fatima and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus in Newark. She and her husband moved to Toms River in 1980 and were communicants of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. For 30 years, she attended retreats at St. Alfonso Retreat House in Long Branch. Doris was also predeceased by two brothers, Thomas and Robert Bredamus and three sisters, Marie Wolfe, Irene Murphy and Lillian Foley.
Surviving are two sons, Edward J. Quinn, III and his wife Joan of Mt. Juliet, TN, Thomas R. Quinn and his wife Cynthia of Garwood, NJ; daughter Theresa A. Richardson of Toms River, NJ; 5 grandchildren, Christopher Richardson and his wife Amanda of Cliffwood, NJ, Jessica Skabich and her husband Dennis of Clifton, NJ, Jaime Richardson of Galloway, NJ, Kelsey Quinn of Garwood, NJ, Maura Quinn of Mt. Juliet, TN; 3 great grandchildren, Corie Anne Richardson, Nicholas and Claire Skabich.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 30 from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 9:30 am Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Hooper Ave., Toms River. Burial will follow at the B/G William Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN, 38101-9908
