Obituary of Sidney M. Feld

Sidney M. Feld , 97 of Toms River, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2015 at the Fireman's Home in Boonton, NJ. Sidney was the president of Garden State Canvas in Point Pleasant from 1966 to 1992. He was a member of the Toms River Fire Co. #2 since 1969 and served as President and Treasurer. He was a member of the Exempt Fire Fighters Association and was Past President of the Toms River Fireman's Relief Association. He was a member of the Ocean County Fireman's Association and the State Fireman's Association where he served as a trustee. He is also Past President of the Fire Police. Sidney is a member of Harmony Lodge #18 of Toms River. Born in Brooklyn, New York on the family dairy farm. He grew up on Long Island, in Merrick and Valley Stream, moving to Toms River in the early 1960's. Sidney was an active participant in many local antique car shows with his treasured 1931 Ford pick up truck. His truck won numerous awards and trophies. He was predeceased by two sisters, Frieda Feld and Gertrude Weinstein. He is survived by a nephew, Robert Weinstein; a niece, Vicki Swartz and husband Theodore and was a great uncle to Rachel Swartz and Matthew Swartz. Relatives and friends are invited to call at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River on Monday from 5 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice of New Jersey, 400 Broadacres Drive, Bloomfield, NJ 07003 in memory of Sidney would be appreciated .
