Obituary of Maxted Clinch

Maxted Clinch, 73 of Toms River. On March 14th 2015 we sadly said goodbye to our husband, dad, brother, grandfather and poppy, Max Clinch. As sad as we are, we find peace that he was confident of his place in heaven, and most recently spoke of that without fear or trepidation. Max was born and raised in Wall township with his doting sisters Ellen, Betsy, Nancy and Amy and loving brother Richard. In 1962 he married his sweetheart and "straight man" Linda. They moved to Toms River soon after and raised their children Robin And Danny. Linda and Max remained in that home until the day he died, just like he said he would. He built a thriving painting contractor business from the ground up retiring after 40 years. Grandchildren followed sooner than expected, but ended up being one the greatest joys of his life. Many Toms River Halloween Parades included Max Clinch inspired floats and costumes, painstakingly built from scratch with the help of all grandchildren and the entire neighborhood. Retirement years were spent enjoying his family, puttering in the garage, yard, and deck with his lady, a beer in his hand and a smile on his face. Max is survived by his wife Linda; son Danny and his wife Maria Barba Clinch; and daughter Robin Aniboli and her husband Paul. Poppy was famous for his grandiose stories and magic tricks that extended decades. His captive audience include his grandchildren Josh Collins and fiancé Amy, Jarrod Collins, Jessica Collins and husband Joe and Max and Nina Clinch. Great grandchildren include Tyler and Lilly Schach, Ethan Collins and Owen Collins. In addition to his family Max was loved by many friends and neighbors. "There were never strangers only friends". A celebration of Max' life will be held Saturday, March 19, at the Union Church of Seaside Park, 47 4th Avenue, Seaside Park, NJ 08752 beginning at 3:00pm until 5:00pm.
