Obituary of Vincent J. Clarkin

Vincent J. Clarkin, 80 of Toms River , passed away on Tuesday, February 24 at Community Medical Center . He worked as a conductor with Amtrak for 30 years and also worked as a claims adjuster for New York Life for 20 years. He was a member of the Brick Elks, Lodge #2151. He served in the US Marine Corps during World War II. Born and raised in Manhattan , NY , he lived in Brick before retiring to Toms River 10 years ago. He was predeceased by his wife Marilyn Clancy Clarkin in 2007. He is survived by his children: Bobby and Audrey Clarkin of Brick; Edward and Debi Clarkin of Toms River; David and Laura Clarkin of Brick; Vicki and Steve Harris of Texas; and Jim Clarkin of Louisiana, and his 7 grandchildren: Jillian, Matthew, Katie, Kelly, Michelle, Kristina and Taylor. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 5 pm on Saturday, Feb. 28 at the Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave. , Toms River .
