Obituary of Bert R. Rastall

Bert R. Rastall, 89, of Ortley Beach, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017. Bert worked as a marine mechanic for Miller Yacht Sales of South Toms River for 30 years before retiring. He enjoyed volunteering for Chariot Riders therapy horse farm of Manchester. He was the go to guy of his neighborhood, helping many with small projects. His pride and joy however was his garden where he spent many hours. Bert was a proud US Army Veteran, having served during World War II. Born and grew up in New Brunswick, he moved to Towaco then settled in Ortley Beach in 1954. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Ruth in 2002. Surviving are his daughter, Janet Wyszinski; granddaughters, Karen Vocaturo and Kristin Wyszinski; great granddaughter, Annmarie Vocaturo: brother, Robert Rastall; sister, Dorothy Rupp; sister in laws, Ellen Rastall and Florence Peterson. Visitation will be held at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River on Tuesday from 9:00 am until the service time at 11:30. Burial will follow with Military Honors at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.
