Obituary of Theresa Leonard

Theresa Leonard of Lakewood, formerly of Toms River, passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at the age of 89. Born in Staten Island, NY, and was raised in Fairlawn, NJ. Theresa was a compassionate and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a member of St. Justin's Church Prayer Group and always served her Lord Jesus. She gave of her time as a caregiver at a local Special Needs Adult group home AMIB. Theresa's talents were preparing memorable meals for her family and friends, and an accomplished seamstress and crafter. She enjoyed any activity that included what was most precious to her, family and friends. She is predeceased by her parents, Faust and Adeline Bruno, her beloved brother Frank and a grandson John Mark Leonard. Surviving are her beloved husband of 65 years, James Leonard; sons, Steven and wife Lynn, Michael and wife Christine; daughters, Donna Mutter, Judy Somers and husband Brian; 10 grandchildren, Erica, Megan, David, and Chad Leonard, Daniel, Sarah, and Melissa Mutter, Jessica and husband Ronnie Bayer, Michael and wife Caroline Somers and Matthew and wife Kaylee Somers; 5 great grandchildren, Madison, Molly and Maisy Bayer, Noah and Cali Somers. Visitation will be held at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River on Tuesday from 2pm to 4pm & 7pm to 9pm. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:30am Wednesday at St. Mary of the Lake Church, corner of Route 88 and Route 9, Lakewood, NJ.
