Obituary of Robert Gary Himmel

Robert Gary Himmel, Sr., 65 of Toms River passed away at home. Gary was a self employed mason contractor with Wilbert and Himmel for 35 years, retiring in 2002. He enjoyed oil painting beautiful scenery, loved to fish on Island Beach State Park and enjoyed making and selling jewelry with his wife at various craft shows. He made a friend of everyone he met. The most important things in life were his family members…he was never too busy to help anyone. Born in Newark , he grew up in Clark, moving to Toms River in 1966. Surviving are: His wife of 43 years, Charlotte Stires Himmel 2 Sons: Robert G. Himmel, Jr., and his wife Caroline – Toms River Ryan R. Himmel – Boynton Beach , FL 3 Daughters: Margaret L. Peclet and her husband Todd – Manchester , NJ Pamela B. Burns and her husband Robert, with whom he lived Rebecca S. Himmel – Boynton Beach , FL 7 Grandchildren who will miss him at their sports games: Conrad, Zachary, Jake, Joshua, Owen, Connor and Benjamin. Sister: Janice Kehl – Herkimer , NY Brother: Lawrence Himmel – Kernersville , NC Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave. , Toms River .
