Loretta June Butler (nee: Lynch), devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully at home, at the age of 90, on Sunday, August 18, 2019. Loretta June Lynch was born on January 30, 1929, in the Vailsburg section of Newark, New Jersey to John and Wilhelmina Lynch. Loretta graduated from Saint Vincent's Academy. She met the love of her life, John G. Butler (Jack), in Newark and their love story began. Loretta lovingly referred to Jack as Himself. Jack and Loretta married in 1950 and lived in Newark and Union, New Jersey, later building and living in homes in Westfield, Long Beach Island and Toms River. Loretta loved decorating her homes and maintaining them meticulously. She was often found trying out recipes as she entertained. She also loved spending time with dear friends and shopping. She was a fashionista long before the term was coined and lovingly passed her love of home and fashion to her children.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 68 years, Jack, and her cherished son, Richard, as well as her brother John Lynch and sister Margaret Wilbur. She is survived by her sister, Ruth Ikuss, her daughter, Carolyn Norton (Alan Singer), and her son, John Butler (Coleen). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kelly Kraft, Bayley Sharma, Erik Butler, Delaney Butler, Justin Butler, and her greatest joy, her great-grandson Aiden.
