Theresa Ann Ranney, 86, of Manchester, NJ, formerly of New York City, NY, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, September 10, 2019. Born to Edward and Elizabeth Berthot in Niagara Falls, NY, she attended St. Mary's High School and Niagara University. She moved to Toms River in 1994, then to Manchester, NJ. Theresa worked as an Administrator for the Department of Social Services and for the County of Rockland Legislature. She was an avid reader and had a curiosity about all topics ranging from Ireland, to chemistry, to history, to religion, and the latest goings on in the tabloid magazines. She had an outgoing personality and made all those she interacted with feel special. Theresa loved decorating her home, putting flowers all about, the NY Yankees as well as becoming a Buckeye fan to support her grandson's alma mater. Her family meant the world to her and Christmas was her favorite holiday lasting all year long. She will be missed dearly. Theresa is predeceased by her parents, Edward and Elizabeth Berthot; her son, William "Billy" Ranney, and her brother-in-law's, Bob Ball, and Michael Michaeloff. She is survived by her son, James Ranney; daughters, Linda Ranney, and Laurel Rogus and her husband Joseph; sisters, Mary Ball, Doreen Michaeloff, Gail Hastings and her husband Jim, and Rita Martin and her husband Paul; grandsons, Nicholas Ranney, Kyle Rogus, and Dan Ranney; granddaughter, Kelilyn Rogus.
