Obituary of George M. Francis, Jr.

Please share a memory of George to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
George Michael Francis, Jr., age 34 of Lanoka Harbor, passed away on January 25, 2024. Born May 6, 1989, George was a free-spirited, kind, and loving person. George grew up in Brick Township and was a 2008 graduate of Brick Township High School. He lived in Bayville, recently moving to Lanoka Harbor to raise his family which always came first. He was employed by J.F. Kiely Construction Company. George had a passion for the outdoors from a young age, finding joy in fishing, boating, dirt biking, and collecting trains. If George wasn’t on the water boating, he could be found enjoying his other favorite pastime – fishing from his dock. He was always eager to help his neighbors with their boats and anything they needed. George is survived by his beloved wife Bridget; his two cherished children, Ellie May Francis, 21 months, and George M. Francis, III, 6 months; his mother, Karen Lesko; his father George Francis, Sr., and wife Pamela; sister, Melanie Lynn Cruz and husband Eric; and grandmother Joan Karnowski. Also surviving are father-in-law Leonard Severin and wife Joan, brothers-in-law, Scott and wife Missy, and Brian; sisters-in-law, Robin, Colleen, and Jennifer Severin; and his nieces and nephews, Brian, Braelynn, Ryder, Cheyenne, Laurel-lye, Jillian, Trent, Lilliana, Adelina and Connor, and many uncles, aunts, extended family, and friends that will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Michael Severin in 2020. Visitation will be held at the Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River, on Sunday, February 18, 2024, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am Monday, February 19, 2024, at the Visitation Roman Catholic Church, Mantoloking Road, Brick, NJ. Relatives and friends will be meeting at the church. Burial will be private. George was an inspiration to all who knew him, spreading love and kindness wherever he went. His heart was full of generosity, always putting others first. As we remember George’s shining example of selflessness and warmth, may we strive to carry on his legacy in our own lives.
