Obituary of William J. Fuchs

William J. Fuchs, age 64 of Toms River, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2014 after a
long illness. Born in Queens, New York, he lived in Carle Place and Westbury on Long
Island, and in Colonie, NY. He played football and lacrosse at W.T. Clarke High School in
Westbury. He entered the Air Force during the Vietnam War, serving in Turkey and Guam,
before being posted to Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana. He was a 1976 graduate
of the State University at Albany, New York. He worked as a supervisory computer
programmer for the State of New York and then for the State of New Jersey. He moved
to Toms River in the early 1980s. In 1984, he began working as a computer specialist and
data base administrator at Fort Monmouth, NJ. Bill retired from Fort Monmouth when the
base closed in 2011. He was an avid golfer and cyclist.
He was predeceased by his parents John and Delphine Fuchs.
Friends and coworkers are invited to a memorial service on Wednesday, October 15, 2014
at 10:15 AM at BG William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road,
Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
