Mom you were a wonderful and thoughtful mother. I remember all the vacations we took together, the best one was our California trip, I will never forget that, we truly had fun and surprisingly you knew how to get around the freeways. At least I will keep the memories in my heart at all times . It's been very hard to understand how you suffered at the end. But you died with dignity and was truly a trooper with all that you suffered with. Oh one more thing, I will never forget how you took care of brent while I worked if it wasn't for you I don't know what I would of done , I thank you for that! We all miss you with every beat of our hearts but you are with dad now where now you are probably the happiest. Also being in heaven now you are not suffering or have your disease any longer and for that I'm very grateful!!

Dear Grandma, July 3, 2017
There are lots of people who God places in our Path who are very special to us, but we often don't realize how much they mean to us after they pass into His Kingdom. And then there are people like you- people who are so special and so unique, that we have a complete appreciation for this while they are alive.
Grandma, I was your grandson for 41 years. How blessed I was to have lived four decades and still be able to have a conversation with you where we both laughed hysterically!
"Kindness" is the word that immediately comes from my heart to my lips when I think of you. When Shaun and I thought it funny to spray your poodle Mimi with the hose, you didn't get mad at us. You gave us "the look" but you didn't get mad. When we visited your blessed sister Sarah and she would threaten Shaun and I with the "Mechanical Man" (an evil, umm, well, "mechanical" man who apparently lived up in the attic) if we didn’t take our vitamins, it was your kind soul that explained to us two young and scared boys that is was really just Aunt Sarah standing under the smoke alarm with a cigarette in her hand.
When I was 20 years old, I had been looking for a real nice guitar to play in the folk band I was part of. I finally found what I was looking for but I couldn’t afford it, so I had planned to pay a few dollars ever few weeks. The second time I went in the store to make my payment, the man behind the counter handed me the guitar and said “It’s yours”. I looked at him and said: “I haven’t even made my second payment yet”. He said “Nicole Trovato bought it for you and told me to hold it for you. Do you know her?” “Yeah…” I said beaming, “I know her...”
And when I started my first real job working as a teacher, I would sometimes stop by your house on the way home and you’d have a big glass of orange juice and crackers waiting for me, of course, with a smile.
And there were so, so many more acts of kindness you showed us… Letting me keep half of a 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass in your attic when I had no more space at my own house. Letting me keep an old junkyard 1971 Oldsmobile 98 in your driveway until your neighbors called the police… (sorry about that). All the beautiful homemade pizza dinners with your amazing hot-pepper salad where everyone would sit around the table and talk…
And how I loved our conversations… And how I now miss our conversations…
And every time we would try to “repay” you by doing something nice for you, you would just do more nice things so I could never “catch up”. Well, now that you’ve left us, I think it’s finally my turn to catch up. I will do everything I can to keep your spirit warm, and fresh, and bright, and I will tell the story of who you were to anyone who will listen.
You are such an incredible, amazing woman Grandma, and I knew that well before you passed away. I am forever thankful to Jesus for placing you in my life.
I know you already know, but I played my guitar for you at your farewell service. Shaun and I played guitar while Brianna sang “Amazing Grace” to see you off. Please tell Papa hello and tell him that your great grandson Phineas, who loved you so incredibly much, and I, are restoring the Oldsmobile for him.
I have never been good at goodbyes, so I won’t say goodbye. Vera, Phin, and I will see you in what will undoubtedly seem like the blink of an eye, when we are all together again in Christ’s name.
I love you Grandma. Thank you…
Sincerely,
Chris (as you would always call me- you were the only one in our family who ever called me that)

Dear Mom,
You were always there when I needed you, in every aspect of my life. Whenever I needed to talk to you, even in the middle of the night, I would come into your bedroom and you would respond to my "Mom?", with a kind response. As a young mother with two children, the wisdom you offered me stayed during the years I raised them. My two wonderful sons now reflect the goodness that I learned from you, and now they have passed this wonderful passion to their own children, my grandsons.
You were my sunshine, and my world, and I will love and honor you forever.

GG for the last 17 years I have been blessed to be part of your life. You taught me so many things but one has stood out to be most life changing for me. You taught me that no matter what life has to throw at you, you hold your head up high, put a smile on your face, and sing a song to keep going. Your love of family and friends was beyond beautiful. Your soul could light up a room immediately and that smile was like a glimmer of hope on a rainy day. Now that your gone I'm going to miss your voice, your kind words of encouragement, your love of life, and your sparkle. But most of all, I'm going to miss your unconditional love for me. You accepted me into your life and your family like I was one of your own and that will never be forgotten. Weston was so lucky to have known you if only for a brief moment....he still sleeps with his Doggy you got for him and on the day you passed he said, Mommy I love GG....so I know you are now his forever angel watching over him. Shaun and I are so glad that even at a ripe ole age of 93 you could still travel and visit us in our home. You saw where we live and where we will raise your pride a joy, Weston. God is good, allowing us to keep you for so long here on Earth. Although you were called home, you will forever be a part of our family. To quote you GG "Until we meet again" We love you beautiful!
