I remember spending great times with John and Joseph every summer during the early '60's. My father was the head chef at the Rogalski's restaurant, "The Red Rail" in Lavalette. My mom and dad were teachers in North Carolina, who found summer work in Lavalette each year and as one of only a few black families on the Shore at that time, it could have been a very uncomfortable situation. However, the love shown all of us by John, Joseph, Dolores and their parents, we felt right at home. In fact, My brother, Quentin and I really felt like brothers to the Rogalski twins! We came to cherish and anticipate the summer months because it meant making the trek north to spend those memorable times with John and Joseph! My family always had fond memories of our days exploring all the towns and communities of "The Shore" long before it got "discovered" and "Big John" (the nickname for his father), Felicia (his mom) and "Little" John and Joseph helped take those times unforgettable! Rest well John, You and Your family were a Great part of our lives!!

I am so saddened to learn of your husband's passing. Although we've known each other for a number of years, I realize how time has allowed us so little time to know each other away from work. I look forward to continuing our connection, and hope it helps you, at this difficult time, to know that there are so many who care. God bless you and your family.
